Live Oak Reaches Out To Family & Friends Through LiveOak25.com (09/13/2007)
Live Oak celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and, as part of the celebration, is seeking to contact all who might be interested in special anniversary events. Friends and family of former residents, employees and donors are invited to register with Live Oak in order to be kept informed of Live Oak’s 25th anniversary celebration as well as new developments at Live Oak.
Anyone who has been a part of Live Oak at any point through its inception to present, should register on the special Web site www.LiveOak25.com or call 797-1900 and give the information over the phone.
Since its affiliation with Willis-Knighton, Live Oak and Willis-Knighton have continued their missions to serve those in the surrounding community. Through these special anniversary activities, Live Oak and Willis-Knighton will give those who have been part of Live Oak throughout the years the opportunity to learn about new developments to serve seniors.
In August 2006, Willis-Knighton purchased 200 acres of land in south Shreveport between Bert Kouns and Flournoy Lucas Road to extend its mission to older adults. This wooded area was adjacent to 107 acres owned by Live Oak. Earlier this year, Live Oak joined the Willis-Knighton Health System, teaming up to provide a premier retirement community and complementary health development and expanding on the Live Oak concept.
